Spend the day sewing a beautiful, wearable garment you’ll reach for all summer long — and choose the fabric that suits your style.

We have designed a gorgeous simple summer cover up which pairs perfectly with summer trousers or a great cover up for the beach.

With expert tuition in a relaxed and supportive environment, you’ll be guided step-by-step through measuring, cutting and constructing your garment — building your confidence with drapey fabrics and professional finishing techniques along the way.

THE Make Cover Up

An effortless summer throw on the robe is a perfect design to use beautiful drapey fabrics and produce simple results.

We will choose the length based on the amount of fabric you have. Using almost the whole piece of fabric to create this robe.

Perfect in:

·       Soft drapey fabrics are perfect, but a linen or slightly structured fabric would give a slightly more structured look.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

·       Working on basic measurements to cut out the fabric.

·       Working with drapey fabrics

·       Attaching a neckband

·       Hemming techniques & French Seams 

·       Choosing the right needle and stitch for your fabric

HOW THE DAY WORKS

You’ll begin by reviewing your fabric and pattern before pinning and cutting your fabric.

After a 30-minute lunch break, the afternoon is dedicated to sewing — constructing your garment step-by-step with guidance throughout.

We always aim to finish during the workshop, but if time runs short, you’ll leave fully confident to complete your garment at home

·       Sewing machine (please inform us at booking if you need to use one of ours — availability is limited)

·       Basic sewing kit

·       Fabric and notions (a detailed list will be sent after booking)

Next Stage Beginner to Intermediate.
You must have sewn at least one garment before and feel confident using a sewing machine.

Duration: 10.15am – 5pm (including 30-minute lunch break)
