The Role
We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable Retail Assistant & Fabric Lover to join our growing team. This is a hands-on retail role for someone who truly understands and loves fabric.
You’ll help customers choose the perfect materials for their projects, offer guidance on patterns and notions, and ensure our shop remains an inspiring, beautifully presented space.
We have possibly two positions available, one for a part-time one to two days per week. & One position for Saturday Support.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional, warm customer service

Provide expert advice on fabric types, pattern choices, suitability, and sewing advise when needed

Confidently measure and cut fabric with precision

Assist customers with fabric and pattern combinations

Operate the till and manage transactions

Maintain visual merchandising standards

Replenish and organise stock

Support workshops, events, and community engagement (if applicable)
About You
-
Strong knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and sewing techniques

Genuine passion for dressmaking and creative crafts

Previous retail experience preferred but not essential

Confident with measuring, cutting, and handling fabric

Friendly, approachable, and professional

Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills

Comfortable working weekends and during busy seasonal periods
