This is an Olympus sashiko leather and elastic thimble to wear on your middle finger to guide the needle through the fabric.

The sashiko thimble is useful for pushing the sashiko needle through fabric with less effort and damage to the skin. As you sashiko stitch, you collect a few layers of stitching. This thimble allows you to push the end of the needle to support the needle to move through with more ease.

Myself and my daughter came in to choose a pattern to get us back into sewing again.
