Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet but never quite known where to start? Whether you’re picking up a crochet hook for the very first time or looking to refresh your skills, this beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect place to start!
Over the course of the morning you’ll learn the essential crochet techniques, build your confidence and discover the joy of creating something with your own hands. With plenty of guidance you’ll be supported every step of the way.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout the workshops, we’ll cover a range of essential crochet skills and will include:
o How to hold your crochet hook and yarn
o Creating a foundation chain
o Making a magic loop
o Counting stitches
o Double crochet and treble crochet stitches
o Slip stitches
o Changing colours
o Increasing stitches
o Understanding yarn types and weights
o Reading crochet patterns and charts
Learning Together, Your Way
Your workshops will be led by Renata, an experienced crochet tutor with 30 years of experience in this beautiful fibre art.
We recognise that everyone works differently, including those who crochet left-handed. Our course materials include visual guidance for both left- and right-handed techniques, including hook-holding methods and the direction of work.
You’ll receive friendly, practical guidance, live feedback on your technique and access to selected online tutorials if requested, helping you find an approach that feels comfortable for you.
Whether you’re right- or left-handed, our aim is to help you develop your skills at your own pace and leave feeling inspired to continue your crochet journey.
What You’ll Need
Nothing to buy before you arrive! We’ll provide a suitably sized crochet hook and yarn for you to practise with during the workshop.
Just bring yourself, your curiosity and a willingness to give something new a go.
