Join us for an immersive workshop where you’ll sew the beautifully versatile Chanterelle Trousers by Sew Liberated. These trousers and shorts are wonderfully adaptable and can take pride of place in any handmade wardrobe—whether you create them in bold colours, elegant fabrics, cosy textures, or casual everyday materials.
With three style options—wide-leg trousers, wide-leg shorts, and cuffed trousers—the Chanterelle pattern offers a flattering, comfortable fit thanks to its elasticated waist and thoughtfully shaped design. Throughout the workshop, you’ll work step-by-step through the construction process while receiving expert support in fitting, finishing, and sewing techniques.
We recommend a light- to medium-weight woven fabric with no stretch. The drape of your chosen material will influence the final look: softer fabrics create a relaxed, fluid silhouette, while more stable fabrics highlight the trouser shaping. Excellent choices include chambray, viscose-linen slub, sandwashed linen or cotton, ikat, Brussels Washer linen, light twill (such as Ventana twill), or Essex cotton–linen blends.
