Sewing Skills - Zips, Pockets and Buttonholes
Regular price £95.00Join us for a hands-on deep dive into essential garment-construction skills. This practical workshop focuses on zippers, pockets, and buttonholes—three elements that can instantly elevate the quality and finish of your sewing projects. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or build confidence with new skills, this session provides expert guidance, personalised support, and plenty of practice.
Together, we’ll explore different types, weights, and sizes of zips and their uses, along with techniques for inserting them cleanly and professionally. You’ll also get to know a range of pocket styles, learn where and why they’re used, and create samples that demonstrate how to sew them with precision. And for anyone who feels nervous about buttonholes—this workshop will help you overcome that fear through clear demonstrations and dedicated practice time.
By the end of the day, you’ll have a collection of well-made samples and the confidence to apply these construction skills to your own garment projects.
