A guided sewing class for makers of all abilities

Join our welcoming in-studio sewing sessions, perfect for anyone looking to build confidence, refine techniques, or tackle their next sewing challenge. Whether you're a progressing beginner or a more experienced sewist, you’ll choose a pattern suited to your skill level—and our expert tutor will support you every step of the way. With personalised guidance on fit, construction, and technique, you’ll work at your own pace while developing strong foundations in garment making.

This is a free-style class where everyone works on their own project, making it a relaxed and inspiring way to learn at your own pace.

Working from our brand new venue in Plymouth’s Museum, The Box you will have great access to a number of facilities. The Make shop is just opposite, the Box’s café is right there for any extra refreshments you may need and the workshop space is bright, professional and ready for you to come and be creative.

  • Achieving the perfect fit with guidance on adjustments

Testimonials

Thank you so much for my necklace and earrings. My sons were quite bemused that a vendor knew me by name and your personal touch made us all feel good. So much nicer than the faceless Amazon or even the posh mens clothing stores that I frequented (virtually) over Christmas.

I love the necklace and earrings - you were right they do match and I will share your site with friends

Myself and my daughter came in to choose a pattern to get us back into sewing again. Lizzy was so helpful, talking us through all of the patterns she has and what fabrics would suit the pattern and our skill level. We are so exicited to get started and thats thanks to Lizzy's patience and help in the shop. We can't wait to come on one of your workshops.
